Insurance

Protect your assets and your authority.

Insurance is one of the largest variable costs for your trucking business. Most insurance companies require a USDOT number before they will even provide a quote, making this a critical step in your launch timeline.

Recommended Coverage

While the FMCSA typically requires $300k to $750k in liability, most brokers and shippers will not work with you unless you have at least $1 million in Primary Liability.

  • Primary Liability Covers damage to others when you are at fault. Standard: $1,000,000.
  • Cargo Insurance Covers the freight you are hauling. Standard: $100,000.
  • Physical Damage Covers your truck and trailer in case of accident or theft.
